My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

I'm the type of person that is usually very easy going. We don't have the money this week? Okay, let's do something else, make our own fun. Maybe next month, year, whatever.
My husband however is much the opposite. He is the "I work hard, I want it, I should be able to buy it. I want it right now!" He's right! He does work hard, he does deserve and should be able to afford the things he wants (within reason).
So, this summer we agreed that we should go tent camping like we used to before and shortly after we were married (we sold our trailer at the end of the season last year because it was too small for our family and too heavy for our car).
My dear husband, expressed that he wanted to purchase a trailer for this summer. I had to break the news for him that I didn't think we could afford it. With a childish pouting tone, "Nevermind, I forgot, we are poor."
Really!?? We are not poor! We have a roof over our heads, food on the table, enough money to do some day trips, we have the equipment to go camping. We have clothes, shoes, computers, and cell phones. We have three healthy happy children and two cars to run them to all the activities and events we attend.
I know his comment was just a moment of frustration, but I think that sometimes we all need a reminder of how rich we really are.
These photographs of children's bedrooms around the world really puts things in perspective for me.
